Leah McGarrigle, Executive Director
Leah McGarrigle joined the Northern District Practice Program as the executive director in 2020. She also works as an oral historian, documenting the legacies of leaders in the areas of law, medicine, the sciences, and higher education, as well as for family oral history projects. In addition, she has conducted full length oral histories with Northern District Court Judges William Alsup, Thelton Henderson, Charles Legge, Ron Whyte, and Marilyn Patel, and short video oral histories with Judges Alsup, Chesney and Fogel. Early in her career Leah was an oral historian for the Oral History Center at UC Berkeley, where she also taught oral history workshops.
Leah has a law degree from UC Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law), an undergraduate degree in history with honors from UC Santa Cruz, and is a member of the State Bar of California.
