Qualified Immunity: The defense of qualified immunity arises in most civil rights cases, and can delay a case for years while the defendants appeal a denial of qualified immunity. Learn about this complex defense from prominent experts. Suffolk University Professor Karen Blum, a nationally recognized scholar and co-author of Police Misconduct: Law and Litigation, discusses qualified immunity. Professor Blum teaches regularly on the topic, to lawyers and judges around the nation. Michael J. Haddad gives the Plaintiff’s perspective and Gregory M. Fox gives the Defendants’ perspective on this complex defense.
